Dad’s in the army

Dad's in the army

Sleepless nights from dusk to dawn

A nomadic life is led by me,

New friends, new lives, dad’s in the army,

Fingers crossed, the first day at school,

Instant friend or a mocking fool!

Transferred again, no home to call mine,

To finish school, two years more,

I know a definite move, is in store.

Academic satisfactory, confidence nil

Never lived in one place for more

Then three years,

It’s become a routine,

I no longer have any fears.

Tomorrow, I move, yet again,

Packing bags and memories,

Happiness and pain.
